You might have unclaimed funds waiting

You might have seen those random ads on tv or maybe online about unclaimed money and just ignored them as scams. Well I’m here to tell you that they’re not all scams. Though there is not one single government database where you can just search your name and see if you have unclaimed funds, there are legitimate ways to find out if you have money out there waiting for you. I have personally used this and found an old rebate for an appliance that my mom purchased years ago and didn’t even know about. It was only for I think $30 or $40 but she wasn’t complaining.

You might have these funds for a variety of reasons ranging from cell phone company refunds to unclaimed funds from a closed bank account to unpaid back wages. It only takes a few minutes to check and you might be pleasantly surprised. To search by state take a look at this link Unclaimed Funds and make sure to check all of the states you’ve lived in.

If you suspect you are owed money from a bank or credit union that went out of business, a pension plan or unpaid wages from a company that went out of business or possible mortgage refunds, take a look here. It might not be a ton of money but like I say, if you were walking down the street and saw $10 on the ground, would you pick it up or would you say it’s only $10 so it’s not worth the effort? Exactly!

*Key thing to remember to avoid being scammed – Government agencies will not call you about unclaimed money or assets and they will not ask you to send them money to get unclaimed funds.*

Good luck and let me know if it works out for you!
